‘m giving away three pairs of tickets to one of the most exciting fundraisers of the year. It’s called “A Scotch, Brew and Art Affair.” This distinctive event honors the memory of Edward Lund, a beloved member of the Fresno arts community whom we lost far too early. It is 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at the Mad Duck at Campus Pointe.
Tickets for the event are $75.
As its name implies, Lund was a connoisseur of fine Scotch, fine brews and fine art. He also loved jazz, and if you’re going to Sunday’s event, you’re in for a treat: The Benjamin Boone jazz ensemble will be on hand for a live performance. Two special guest artists plan to sit in: Debasis Chakroborty, a famous Indian musician from Agra; and Chris Janzen, a guitarist and one of the donor artists for the event’s expansive silent auction.
Money raised goes toward an excellent cause: The Edward O. Lund Foundation is raising money to support Fresno State art students. Proceeds go toward 11 new Lund Scholarships for the 2023 Fresno State London Study Abroad program.
The contest is open to members, donors and individual sponsors of The Munro Review. Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. Please consider a paid membership in support of independent, local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available. For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase, donation or membership is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.
To enter this giveaway, leave a reply on this post (see below) answering this question: Have you ever been to London? (If yes, tell us your favorite part. If not, what would you most like to see?) know, it’s not fair asking when it’s 103 degrees outside.) If you’d rather not share, just tell us why you’d like to see the show. Deadline to enter is 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20. The winner will be picked at random and notified by email.
The Munro Review has no paywall but is financially supported by readers who believe in its non-profit mission of bringing professional arts journalism to the central San Joaquin Valley. You can help by signing up for a monthly recurring paid membership or make a one-time donation of as little as $3. All memberships and donations are tax-deductible.
