‘m giving away a pair of tickets to California Opera’s “La Traviata,” which plays for one performance only at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at the Fresno Memorial Auditorium.
The fully staged production is directed by Justine Prado Manro. It marks a return to Memorial Auditorium for the company, which staged its first production there. The opera is the culmination of California Opera’s 2023 summer festival. You can read more about it in my story here.
General adult tickets for “La Traviata” are $50. There are limited tickets available at the door on the day of performance.
“La Traviata” is a repeat performance for the company (as it is for most opera companies, of course.) Jamie Bonetto, a familiar name on the Fresno opera scene, returns to sing the title role. The production in the past was well received by the community, the opera folks tell me, and surveys showed that audience members liked the work and were happy for its return.
If you don’t win these free tickets, general adult tickets for “La Traviata” are $50. There will be a limited number available at the door. Students with I.D. are free, but reservations are required through the website.
