here’s a reason why the Fresno Philharmonic’s annual holiday concert is one of its most popular of the year: Music makes any celebration a lot more festive. Two lucky TMR readers will each win a pair of tickets to this season’s offering, “Home for the Holidays,” to be held 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, in the Saroyan Theatre.
The concert features guest conductor Chelsea Tipton leading the orchestra and members of the Fresno Community Chorus, with music director Anna Hamre preparing the singers. Item No. 8 for your Best Holiday Party in the World: Hire a 150-member chorus to entertain. You can’t beat the impact of all those voices. (Also, you probably wouldn’t be able to afford such an ensemble, so your best option is go on Saturday night.)
The contest is open only to members, donors and individual sponsors of The Munro Review. Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. Please consider a paid membership in support of independent, local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available. For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase, donation or membership is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.
To enter this giveaway, leave a reply on this post (see below) answering this question: What holiday song can’t you live without? (Or, if you’re shy, just tell us why you’d like to go.) Deadline to enter is 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15. The winners will be picked at random and notified by email.
The Munro Review has no paywall but is financially supported by readers who believe in its non-profit mission of bringing professional arts journalism to the central San Joaquin Valley. You can help by signing up for a monthly recurring paid membership or make a one-time donation of as little as $3. All memberships and donations are tax-deductible.
