f you’re a longtime Fresno-area theater fan, there are several reasons why you’d want to see the national tour of “Anastasia,” which opens Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Saroyan Theatre for a two-night run. For one thing, it’s a relatively new Broadway musical that most people haven’t gotten a chance to see. And, closer to home, a very familiar face is part of the cast: William Aaron Bishop (or, as I’ve usually referred to him, Will Bishop), a veteran of productions at Fresno State, Selma Arts Center, StageWorks Fresno and more. He’s part of the ensemble, and if you check out his Facebook page, you’ll learn all about the exciting times on tour he’s stepped in to cover major roles in the show.
To celebrate, I’m giving away a pair of tickets to opening night to a lucky member of The Munro Review. (A special thanks to Broadway in Fresno for making these giveaways possible.)
Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. Please consider a paid membership in support of independent, local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available.
For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase, donation or membership is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.
To enter this giveaway, leave a reply on this post (see the comments field below) answering this question: What’s your favorite Will Bishop role you saw him play in Fresno? (Or, if you prefer, you can just say why you want to see the show.) Deadline to enter is 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20. The winner will be picked at random and notified by email.
The Munro Review has no paywall but is financially supported by readers who believe in its non-profit mission of bringing professional arts journalism to the central San Joaquin Valley. You can help by signing up for a monthly recurring paid membership or make a one-time donation of as little as $3. All memberships and donations are tax-deductible.
