he Broadway musical “Waitress” has been working hard for a long time to get over to Fresno’s table, but Covid kept getting in the way.
Now it’s finally here to take our order.

A national tour of the acclaimed Sara Sara Bareilles-written musical will stop at Fresno’s Saroyan Theatre on Monday, Jan. 24, and Tuesday, Jan. 25.
I wrote about an earlier national tour of “Waitress” that visited San Francisco in 2018 and featured among its cast the Good Company Players alum Ryan Dunkin, who played the character of Cal, the grumpy short-order cook. The musical is based on the The musical is based on the 2007 film of the same name. It tells the story of Jenna, a stellar baker and scraping-by waitress whose pregnancy upends her life.
Tickets for the Broadway in Fresno production range from $45 to $100.
