he concert: The Youth Orchestras of Fresno presents “Winter Magic!” The organization’s three ensembles will perform: Youth Chamber Orchestra (YCO), the Youth Symphony Orchestra (YSO), and the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (YPO).
Time and place: 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at Shaghoian Hall.
Tickets: General admission is free. Premium reserved seats are $15 adults, $10 children.
The conductor: Thomas Loewenheim, who is having a busy weekend.
The program: The YPO will perform Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio espagnol, Op. 34; and the Sibelius Symphony No. 1 in E minor, Op. 39.
Why you should go: This will be the first time in nearly two years that the Youth Orchestras of Fresno will perform in person. The musical caliber of the Youth Orchestras is very high. These are very talented young musicians.
