Update 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 2: Due to the governor’s new coronavirus restrictions, Gallery 25 has canceled this opening and exhibition.
rtHop in Fresno is canceled at the moment because of the pandemic, but at least one unofficial “hop” will be available for brave art lovers.
Gallery 25 plans to open “Coronian Art,” an exhibition featuring work in mixed media and assemblage by Carol Tikijian and Robin Dolarian. An opening reception will be held in the traditional “first Thursday of the month” ArtHop slot: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 3.
“This is the first time that Gallery 25 has been open since the beginning of the pandemic,” says spokesperson Rebecca Barnes.
The gallery will be following COVID-19 best safety practices:
• To ensure proper social distancing, no more than 10 people can occupy Gallery 25 at one time.
• Face coverings are required.
• Maintain appropriate social distancing (6 feet).
• Hand sanitizer is available in the gallery.
The artists will be there for the opening reception. (Which means only eight other people in the galleries, I’d assume.) After the reception, the show will run noon-3 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Aug. 29, 2020. (The gallery will be closed July 4.)
